SIGNUM DEI

Signum Dei is latin for “Sign of God.” To be a sign of God is to know him well enough to share him with others. To do that, we must learn about him to the highest degree possible. Signum Dei exists to help you come to the greatest knowledge possible of God so that he can dwell within you more intimately. With this program, God can truly become present in your life so that you can better serve the needs of others.

Why You Should Join Signum Dei

Price

Signum Dei is affordable. At just $10/mo., you’ll pay only a fraction of what you would pay to take classes at a Catholic university or college. In fact, it would take you 50 years in Signum Dei payments to equal the amount of $ you’d pay for those classes.

Variety

Signum Dei offers courses in just about any scholastic topic of the Catholic faith that you can think of. On top of that, we add a level of practicality to each course so you are not just learning the facts, but you’re able to put your faith into action too. Our goal is to create the largest library of Catholic courses in existence and we will be working diligently to make that dream a reality.

No Tests

One of the reasons I created Signum Dei was because I wanted to create a unique learning platform unlike any other academic program. One of the ways this happens is that our courses are not “grade-based,” which means we have no tests, no quizzes, and no grades. We believe that true disciples of Christ don’t need these, nor the pressure exams put on them, to perform out of necessity instead of love.

That being said, we do offer plenty of quality feedback. Each course is taught in real time before it becomes archived. This means that we are always “live,” so to speak, because there is always a new course being added to the course library.

Our community forums provide daily feedback to your questions, insights, and even your prayer requests. On top of that, I invite Masters in the subjects being taught to come and share their vast knowledge with us in live Q & A forums as well as through video interviews. The Signum Dei program isn’t just an automated “come as you please” place- on the contrary, it is a lively, intellectually stimulating community that builds its members up in faith every single day.

No Deadlines

Each session is taught live for four weeks. That means that the community is able to engage in the content through forums, essay sharing, video lectures, and webinars during this interactive time. But, we know that life circumstances make it difficult to stay on task and online coursework tends to be on the lower end of the life priority totem pole (and for good reason!). That’s why, once the course is over, it turns into an automated version that you can access whenever you wish to catch up on your learning as you develop your knowledge of the faith on your own time. So, it is ok if you miss a day, or a week, or even a an entire course because the information will stay there for life.

Community

No one is on this journey toward salvation alone. Yes, Jesus, Mary and the Saints are all with us, but we, the Church, are the body of Christ and as such, we need to work together. The Signum Dei community is made up of people from all over the world- priests, religious, and laity- working together to sharpen one another in virtue and knowledge. It is a microcosm of the Church’s unity that solidifies our souls so that we can go out and serve God in the missions he has called us to complete.

The Signum Dei community was created to help aspiring learners to find other people who are interested in specific realms of study surrounding our Catholic faith. This gives our members the ability to delve deeper into specific themes that pertain to certain subcategories of Catholic Theology and Philosophy such as Apologetics, Mariology, Sacred Scripture, and many more.

Focused Study

We will be judged by the amount of light we have been given. On the other side of that coin, we are required to pursue that light out of love for God who constantly calls us to communion with him. If you have an internet connection, you have been given more light than all generations before you combined. You only need a way to sift through the digital world and uncover the treasures of Christendom that are timeless and priceless to your soul. That’s what we do in the Signum Dei distance learning community- we do the heavy lifting and find the resources that can bring you the truth as proclaimed by the Catholic Church. And, we teach it to you in an engaging, intellectually stimulating way.

Expertise

I’ve spent the last 20 years of my life pursuing truth as a foreign missionary, catechist, teacher, and during my Master’s degree studies. It has been my life’s work to contemplate this truth and share it with the world. I created the Lit Catholicism for Young Adults program as well as the Tiny Thomists program so that this truth could be shared with our youngest Catholics, but now, with the Signum Dei program, I’m finally able to spread the truth to adults as well. On top of that, I’ve made several connections along the way with experts in each of the fields of study taught through the Signum Dei program. I invite them to join us to share their knowledge through live webinars, video interviews, and some even participate in our online discussion forums as well.

Fun

The Catholic faith is full of people of different attitudes and seriousness. In the Signum Dei community, we keep the environment light and drama free. We realize the gravity of the work we do, but we also recognize that a high-strung, overzealous evangelist is no evangelist at all. Our policy is to treat others with dignity and respect and we have no problem slipping in a bit of light-heartedness into our spiritual lives as well.

Why You SHOULDN’T Join Signum Dei

The only reasons why you shouldn’t join Signum Dei is if you need a degree for your future work and you are willing to pay a minimum of $10k to do it.

Not everyone is called to get that piece of paper and, although it is true that an accredited university can help you grow in your theological/philosophical knowledge, it isn’t for everyone. It isn’t the only way either. In fact, it isn’t even the most practical way. Signum Dei provides the practicality that you want, the rigor that will challenge you to grow, and the cost that won’t empty your wallet.

If you are looking for a way to lead a consistent life of study, contemplation, community and mission, then Signum Dei is the program for you.
